⚡ Fastlancer #3: 632 tools analyzed, Chanty & Foxit deals, Coda
Justus here. These past two weeks I did something slightly obsessive: I went through the pricing of every single tool in our directory — all 632 of them — and turned the result into an open data report.
The headline: freelance software is cheaper than it looks. 61% of tools are free or freemium, and the typical paid entry sits at €14 a month. The full numbers below — plus two new reader deals.
The Freelancer Tool Report 2026

We analyzed every tool in our directory by pricing model and entry price. The findings: 61% are free or freemium, the median paid entry is €14/month, the 14-day trial is the industry standard — and a complete starter stack runs about €491 a year. Every number is broken down by category, and the dataset is open, so you can check the math.
